HOW TRAILPOINTS WORKS

Bookings should be confirmed and paid for to secure the date and route required

You will drive to the agreed start point of your walk - TRAILPOINT A. I will meet you there at an agreed time, go through the final arrangements, pick up your vehicle key and when you’re ready you set off on your walk. I will drive your vehicle to the agreed end point of your walk - TRAILPOINT B. Once there I will park your vehicle and pay and display if needed. I will then use the key-lock box to secure your key inside with an agreed combination of your choice, and then padlock the lock-box to your vehicle.

When you arrive at TRAILPOINT B simply open the lock box retrieve your key and drive home. I will leave a stamped addressed envelope inside your vehicle so all you have to do is post the lock-box back to me.

Private/Rental vehicle

For private vehicles, please make sure your vehicle is road legal and safe to drive, otherwise I will not be able to move it due to insurance issues.

If you’re hiring a rental vehicle, and wish to use this service please contact me in advance so we can work out the insurance with the rental company prior to any payment. The Rental company may need a small payment to insure me on the hire vehicle, usually £15, and I will have to present my driving licence at the office for this. This additional payment is not included in this service, and will need to be paid by you.

In both instances I will need the vehicle make, model, colour and the registration plate number.

Insurance - Private vehicles

I am insured on my own vehicle fully comprehensive and insured on any other car (aoc), which covers me on your vehicle so long as you have insurance yourself and I have permission from you to drive. By booking my service this gives me implied permission to drive. If you have any queries on your own insurance please consult your insurance company.

Keys

I have lockable key boxes for you to use. We will agree a 4 digit code for the combination, which will be clarified when we meet at TRAILPOINT A, and I will make sure you can use it. I advise you to use a memorable code or write it down and have it with you on your walk. If all else fails I’ll be checking my phone on the day in case of any issues. If your vehicle has a proximity sensor key or push start button, I will wrap your key in tin foil before putting it in the lock-box. If this is the case please ensure that the key will not work when in foil prior to meeting at TRAILPOINT A. I will bring foil with me to the TRAILPOINT.

Please ensure you have a full tank of fuel or full charge on your vehicle.

Please also check weather reports prior to your walk and bring appropriate clothing.
